Ohio State Marion Homecoming Court 2025 Application
Applications due by: April 2, 2025
Each year, students are selected to represent The Ohio State University as members of the Homecoming Court. Court members are chosen by a homecoming selection committee, based academic performance, qualities of leadership, school spirit, integrity, and involvement on campus and with the university.
Requirements for Regional Campus Court
Undergraduates who have earned at least 30 credit hours by the end of Spring semester and a 2.5 cumulative GPA are eligible to apply for the 2025 Homecoming Court. Past court members may not apply. Final GPAs and hours completed will be verified at the end of the Spring semester, and non-eligible court members will be removed.
Selection
Up to six students will be selected as members of the 2025 Homecoming Court. Alternates will be identified, but not announced, in case a court member cannot fulfill their obligations. From these individuals, two Buckeye Royals will be selected. The Royals will be announced during Homecoming festivities in October. The selection is based upon highest cumulative application and interview scores. In the event of a tie, the highest GPA will determine the outcome. Each of the regional campuses will have a court of up to six members, including two royals.
Recognition
CFAES – Wooster, Lima, Mansfield, Marion, and Newark Homecoming Court members will be recognized at the coronation ceremony in Columbus on Friday, October 3, 2025. Family and friends may attend. Following the coronation, court members will participate in the Homecoming Parade in Columbus and be recognized before the start of the Homecoming Football Game on Saturday, October 4, 2025. You must be able to attend the coronation, parade, and the game on Saturday.
Obligations
Those selected as Court Members will be required to attend several Homecoming functions including, Welcome Day, (8/25), the Marion Popcorn Parade (9/4), coronation and parade (10/3), football game (10/4), Buckeye Bash (10/21) and other activities scheduled in Columbus and on the Marion Campus. Additionally, members of the 2025 Homecoming Court will assist in the recruitment of the 2026 Homecoming Court applicants. Professional attire will be required for some appearances. Costs for travel to and from Columbus, optional hotel stays, optional guest football tickets, and other discretionary costs are the responsibility of the student. Holding a position on The Ohio State University at Marion’s Homecoming Court is an opportunity that holds great responsibility, including upholding The Ohio State University’s Student Code of Conduct. Applicants understand the obligations of being a court member and by accepting the position of Homecoming Court member, applicants are agreeing to fulfill all the responsibilities.

Applicants chosen as members of the 2025 Homecoming Court will always hold the distinct honor of representing their campus in this tried-and-true university tradition. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to network with students and staff from other campuses, meet a variety of Ohio State Alumni and administrators, build their resume, and hold a leadership role on campus. Members of the Homecoming Court will also receive a sash, polo shirt, professional nametag, and a free ticket to the Homecoming football game.
Deadlines/Submissions
Applications are due via Qualtrics submission no later than 5 p.m. on April 2, 2025. Applications will only be accepted through the Qualtrics form.
Interviews
Homecoming Court interviews will be held the between April 8-17. The Homecoming Court selection committee will consist of faculty, staff, and administrators. The Homecoming Court will be selected by April 30, 2025. Buckeye Royals will be announced at the Homecoming Coronation ceremony on Friday, October 3, 2025.
